Teehee! NASA poem...

I've been sorting through some of my bits and bobs boxes today. I've just come across my writing book from primary school. There was one poem that I vaguely remembered being proud of and so I flicked through to find it. It is an interesting sort of poem, lol. I thought I'd post it on here.

My poem about NASA
I am the cleaner, I hear many things
Some things are meaner, but that's what life brings
I clean out the pipes and check they're alright
I go in with brooms and sweep all the rooms
Always I've wanted to fly a spaceship
But now I cannot, I've dislocated my hip
I dream of comets and sailing past the moon
But I'm stuck cleaning here, except for in June
That's my month off, I go many places
But none of them are as exciting as space is
How I wish I could be an astronaut
But I guess I still can give that some thought

Well, it's not much of an ending, but it's not too bad considering how old I was when I wrote it, lol.

Heh, I've just flicked through a bit further and I wrote a page of information about each planet (I think I did these from videos that we watched, but I only vaguely remember). I came across my page on Pluto and it reminded me of the quote "When I was your age, Pluto was a planet!"

Anyway, I've done what I came to do, so I'll go do some more unpacking, repacking and tidying. Busy busy busy.

That is quite a cute poem ... how old were you exactly when it was written? I think I vaguely remember it.

Hope all is going well :)

Um, I think I was 10. I think I remember you suggesting the 'dislocated hip' bit, lol. Good times.
