Just felt like blogging...

Since I had a little time, I thought I'd do a little blogging...
I've been listening to quite a bit of Paramore recently, and I do rather like their music :).
I've also been listening to the New Moon Soundtrack, which is excellent, though very depressing (reflecting the storyline). My favourite song on there is probably 'Possibility'. I shall put it on here if I can find a YouTube video... wait a minute... here we go.

The video's pretty good, though I'm not sure about the huge amount of layering going on there. It was one of the better ones I found, and I really love the song...

On a completely different topic, I've been doing some very fun and fairly successful cooking recently which has been really good. Me and Matt made sweet and sour chicken (almost from scratch - we used pre-made sauce, but added all our own veges and stuff), pasta bake and today we made cottage pie with Jess (who is now back from a really nice trip home). We haven't used any recipes or anything, it's been more of a 'this is the sort of stuff that goes in these things isn't it? Well, let's have a go' sort of thing...

I also introduced the idea of fairy bread to them, as they hadn't heard of it before (bread with margerine and hundreds and thousands on it - very tasty).

Something I just thought I'd add - I really enjoyed church this morning, it was just generally really good. It's been a while since I've felt so happy to be at church, and it was really awesome to feel that way. The message was on 1 Kings 18, and was quite challenging and powerful.
Good stuff :). The worship was really good too (which is quite normal, but is nice nonetheless).

I'd better go now, I want to get some piano playing in before I start feeling really guilty about how late it is... (I don't want to disturb Phoebe next door...)

Meep!

Casting Crowns

I've been listening to Casting Crowns a bit more recently and have discovered a new excellent song, along with rediscovering one I liked very much from when I first heard it...

'Does Anybody Hear Her' is the one that I had heard before but still love. This is not the official video for it, as I kind of preferred this one that I came across (plus the official one had the embedding feature disabled - but you can see it here)

This is the new song I discovered and immediately loved. It's called 'I Know You're There' - this is one of the videos I found of it on YouTube, but really it's the song that I like, more than the video...

Happy Bunny!

I'm really happy with how today has gone, or really how yesterday has gone, since it's already a couple of hours into Thursday.
NB: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS! Love you :)

I had my semester assessment in the afternoon, and after worrying about it quite a bit, I managed to do it all in good time and it went really smoothly - the two tutors I had were really friendly and encouraging which was lovely. I did have to leave my work with them in the end (they were taking 5% of the people's work and mine was one of the 5% - so was Harly's and Matt's).

Jess left to go home just before I went for my assessment, and Harly went home a bit later in the early evening, so Matt and I were left on our own. We had no idea what to cook for dinner so went to Tesco and did a wander round and shop, and we came back and attempted to make Sweet and Sour Chicken with rice. I wasn't sure how it would turn out as I hadn't ever made it before, it could have been either extreme, but we agreed in the end that it was definitely a success :). After this we ended up watching the entire first series of Fawlty Towers (which I had never seen before - but Matt had seen loads of times), which I found very entertaining :P. He's planning to educate me in the Mighty Boosh and Monty Python in the near future - which I am very happy about, should be good fun.

Right, I should really go to bed now as we're going shopping tomorrow... I just felt like blogging.
I'm so happy my assessment is done and went well! :)

No more music player...

I've just taken my ninja music player out of the sidebar, as I'm getting a bit annoyed with it messing up quite a bit (lots of the songs don't work anymore and it often takes quite a while to load). I may edit it and put it back at some point, but for the meantime I'm just going to leave it.
I've been a little obsessed with embedding videos since I figured out how to do it (not that it's that hard, I just never bothered before...), so if I really want a song up I'll just do it that way...

In other news, I've now signed a contract for a house that I'll be moving into with my lovely best friends next year, so it's all good - we're all really excited about it :). I'll probably move in in August and then work here for a while before uni starts again.

My arm is feeling a lots better after being hit by the wing mirror of a truck/van thing driving down the road yesterday. It really hurt when it first hit me, I can't remember what the vehicle looked like, I just assume it was a truck/van as it had those massive wing mirrors and consequently hit me from about my elbow to my shoulder. I wasn't even walking unnecessarily close to the curb, I was just walking in the middle of the footpath - but it wasn't a huge one though. When it hit me, the mirror snapped in towards the window, so the noise of that gave me a shock as well as the sting of it hitting me...
Now it's just a bit achy, I'm not sure whether a bruise will come up or not, though I can tell it's a bit bruised under the skin...

Right, I've got my assessment tomorrow, so I'd better finish planning my presentation...
Adios amigos :)

Maybe - Ingrid Michaelson

I stumbled across this video today and I think it's rather awesome. It's very arty and well put together, the song's rather good too - I'd never heard of Ingrid Michaelson before but I rather like this little bit that I have heard from her now...

We are one tonight

There is an awesome video for a Switchfoot song that Matt showed me the other day. I decided that it was so cool that I should share it with the world. See below :).

I also love the new Switchfoot album 'Hello Hurricane' and I really want to buy it. The sound is quite different to the other music of theirs that I have listened to but I quite like it.

I'm having a great time back at uni - missed my friends loads, so it's great to be spending so much time with them (almost 24 hours a day... everyday...) They're amazing. Though we've had pretty much no sleep this week. Jess is currently asleep on my bed and Harly is half asleep and Matt is listening to music because he doesn't feel so sleepy (we put him in my bed to go to sleep for a few hours this morning because he was becoming non-responsive, lol). I still haven't really slept since yesterday morning, so that's kind of interesting...

In other news, I shall be having an interesting hair cut sometime soon - I have given Jess free reign to do whatever she wants with my hair, and she's told me roughly what she's planning to do and it sounds quite cool. Not sure exactly when we'll do it, but sometime this weekend I think.

Planning to get a proper night's sleep tonight as I haven't really had one this week. We're all going on a much needed shopping trip tomorrow. I really need to get some more clothes (possibly some warmer ones, it's getting pretty chilly now). It's also really icy at the moment, which makes it an interesting trip down to college...

We viewed a house today, the first one we've seen, in preparation for where we're going to live next year. It was pretty horrendous. We've decided it's a definite no. We shall need to do a bit more searching soon. In fact I think that's one of the things we're supposed to be doing now (rather than falling asleep on my bed...).

Anywho, just thought I'd put a quick update. The only reason I really wanted to do it was to upload the Switchfoot video because it has such awesome transitions and stuff.
Beautifully made :). Enjoy!
