Music music music

I'm loving Matt Redman's new CD atm, however I am a bit disappointed that I can't find the lyrics to 'We Shall Not Be Shaken' (one of my fave songs on the CD) on the internet - I don't have the CD case with me (which I think has the lyrics...). But it is good anyway. Also loving Ben Cantelon's 'Running After You' (the whole CD), excellent stuff.

I bought 'Have You Heard?' by Shell Perris recently, and I'm a bit addicted to 'Barbie Girl' - great lyrics, plus it's all fun and dancy. :)

Fun fun.

And so it goes...

I've been e-mailing and writing to various people, so I haven't really felt the need to blog much recently, but again, lots has happened. General uni stuff - various projects going on. I did some drawings which I'm rather proud of for a collaborative piece which is full of different styles but has turned out really well :).

I'm missing talking about non-arty sorts of things a bit - I was disappointed at the Fresher's Fayre that they didn't have any societies - apparently that was on a different day which had already gone by. It's a bit of a journey to get to the main uni campus because I'm based somewhere a bit different, but I did go down there with Lis last week to go to the main CU - that was rather good. If I'm organised enough, I might look up some of the societies and go down and visit them on various days. I'll have to figure it out...

I'm quite content where I am at the moment, I hang out with a lovely group of girls most of the time, so generally I can always find someone to chat to if I'm bored. I've visited a couple more churches - all the churches in this area actually seem rather good, which is nice, but also makes it more difficult to choose between them. We've got another three we're all planning to go to together (the CU girls) and I probs won't visit any new ones after that as the ones I've already seen have been so good! It would be nice to just pick one and spend some time settling a bit.

So yes, generally life is good, I've got used to living independently quite quickly - I was generally self-reliant most of the time anyway, so I suppose it wasn't a whole lot of change. Plus I still contact my parents quite a lot, so I've got a good support foundation thingymadoo. Good stuff.

Better go now, need food...

Wow, info rush

I feel like such a long time has passed since I last blogged, simply because so much has been happening!
I've met some really lovely people, on my course, from the CU and in my house. I'm liking getting to know all of these different people, it's quite funny how a lot of them remind me of other people. My friend Sophie really reminds me of my friend Rai from college, her voice and mannerisms and stuff, she even looks a bit like her. Also, Lis reminds me of my best friend from primary school - Rebekah, she looks like her a bit and seems to sound like her, though I know it must be like an English version of her voice or something... I don't really remember Rebekah's accent that much...

But yes, I've made lots of good friends - my house is all girls, and they all seem really nice, about half of them are international students (I think someone said they're from Hong Kong), I haven't really talked to them much yet as I've been out so much, but hopefully will get to know them a bit better soon too.

I've been to a couple of parties, an entertaining Pub Quiz (where the SU president traded a few quiz points for cigarettes...) and have been out exploring the town most days first by myself and then with Sophie and Georgia. Today I went on the CU grub crawl which was great fun - one house for dinner, then another for dessert, then on to a pub for drinks - the houses were actually really nice, I'm hoping I'll get to live in a house as nice as those ones next year. Apparently we have to start house-hunting for next year soon if we want anywhere decent... that's a bit worrying, it means we have to figure out who we want to live with next year pretty quickly!

Tomorrow is the Fresher's Fayre, so that should be quite good, I'm looking forward to seeing all the societies and stuff. I'd better go to bed soon since I have a fairly early morning.

But yes, so far, uni life is pretty good :).
