Happy Chinese New Year

We went to London to celebrate Chinese New Year today :) Lots of fun, squished like a sardine though. Lots of dancing and gymnastics and flute-playing on stage in Trafalgar square, very nice. Chinese food is fantastic, except Siu Mai (is that how you spell it?) That makes me want to throw up, but yeah. Hmm...

Gong Xi Fa Chai
And welcome to the year of the dog

This is why

I have too many thoughts in my head, this is why I jump from subject to subject with no consideration for those who might be wondering what the hell I'm talking about and thinking what I say has no relevance. My friends understand me so that's what matters right?
Just thought this was a comment to be noted.

RAWR!

Feeling quite bouncy today. But the homework that must be done might be enough to take away my bounce. Hehe *boing* hehe!
I was amused today by the fact that Samuel seemed amused by my speaking. I said 'Shut up' to Amy (as usual - not in a mean way, we're just like that, she always goes 'oh shush!') and Samuel asked me to repeat it and a bit later said that we haven't really had a proper conversation - which Za commented on: "You've been in the same class for like four years ... " And we have actually talked, just not much at all. I don't know, he's a bit weird sometimes...

I just read Pride and Prejudice (have already listened to it on cassette tape) and the version I read had some terrible spelling mistakes, e.g. 'chooses' is 'chuses' etc. I really want to see the new version of Pride and Prejudice - with Keira Knightly etc. - but can't find it in any shops I look, but other people think it is def. out on DVD... hmmm.... curious.

I recently discovered Amy Peppercorn is an actual person not just a book character (books so far are: Amy Peppercorn - Starry Eyed and Screaming, Amy Peppercorn - Living the Dream and Amy Peppercorn - Beyond the Stars. But someone writes about her - am not sure if stories are real characters and real events or fictional events with real characters, at the moment I am inclined to believe the latter. But she has a great voice - borrowed the book from the library - "Beyond the Stars" and found a CD on the front with two songs of hers. Love her song 'If Ever', it's really good... got it stuck in my head today, along with various other songs, found myself humming in lessons... The song was written either by or for her friend Geoff who died young. Looked up the lyrics to it on her site and found that actually, the lyrics are wrong with the version of the song on the CD, but hey, pretty much right. The song suits my voice quite well which is another reason for my liking it... with me for songs it's 'If I can sing it, I'll like it a lot more.'

If Ever (Geoff's song)
Lyrics adjusted by me

You would seize the day for me
Keep the night away for me
Make the darkness light for me
The noble sun ignite for me
If ever you were here

And if ever you were here again
I’d never shed a tear again
Or make the sunrise mine alone
Or see a new sun shine alone
If ever you were here

You would seize the day for me
Keep fearful nights away for me
Make the darkness light for me
The noble sun ignite for me
If ever you were here with me

And if ever you were here again
I’d never shed a tear again
Or make the sunrise mine alone
Or see a new sun shine alone
If ever you were here

But nothing is forever now I know
As the sun will burn to death one day
To be with you where you have gone
Where suns and stars have never shone

And if ever you were here again
I’d never shed a tear again
Or make the sunrise mine alone
Or see a new sun shine alone
If ever you were here

And if ever you were here with me
Once more
Just one more day to keep
As darkness makes its way to sleep
To know that you’ve been near to me
I’d never shed a tear

Haven't blogged in a while, keep forgetting to do it... We had two firebells at school today about 5 minutes apart, so by the time I'd got back up, all the way to the third floor for History, I had to go all the way down again. Not much else interesting happened today. Can't really blog much now, not much time...

Spent 10 minutes looking for my phone and then found it when I checked the first place I looked again... I'm a bit daft sometimes, it was wedged in the bottom of my pocket and so felt like it was the bottom of my pocket but never mind.

Can't wait for NZ...

Mock Exams

My mocks started today, Science in the morning - I did answer all the questions but am not sure about quite a bit of it - and then I had an R.E. trip (for our coursework) afterwards. The trip wasn't too bad, we went to a Gurdwara - Sikh place of worship. We all had to remove our shoes and put on headscarves (I accidently took mine home - borrowed from my teacher, will have to bring it in tomorrow...) . Firstly, we went into a little classroom and all squished into sitting position, I was sitting on the edge/corner of a small table - not realising we would be there for long. We were there for an hour. Before it was half over I was thinking 'hurry up I really need to stand up...' and not concentrating on what he was saying - I found out later there were a few similar cases. Then we went to their prayer hall thingy (don't remember what it was called... something beginning with D) and walked round a bit looking at the holy book and the lady who was reading it out. Then we went down for langar (a meal prepared for everyone - by volunteers) which was nice, wasn't sure if I'd like it but I thought I'd try it. There was a little bit of bread (naan/roti or something), some vegetable soupy-type curry with a weird aftertaste, some chunky vegetable curry (really nice) and some really sweet porridge stuff. It was alright and Chels and Jodie plus a few others went up for seconds (we had been told we could if we liked). Then after that we got to go home. The whole trip smelt weird - the coach when we went there and back smelt of smoke and stale air and the Gurdwara just smelt odd, or different. But all in all the trip wasn't that bad. The coach trips were interesting... listening to the radio on Chels' phone and with the other ear listening to other peoples conversations, such as Hayley and Maxwell's. On the way back Maxwell started discussing things like his Xbox is better than a woman (Doesn't nag and is 'sexy' according to him) so it was an interesting discussion to vaguely listen to. I remember when Hayley and Maxwell in Science were having a conversation - 'the battle of the sexes' type thing - and Maxwell said 'What can girls do that boys can't?' and Hayley replied 'Breast-feed' so he started on about how boys could piss over walls. But I really think the girls thing is far more productive and pollutes far less. Anyway... off the odd subject of Maxwell and Hayley's discussions...

I discovered today that I have to go in tomorrow for a Stats exam - I knew everyone was doing Maths and I've done Maths last year but I thought perhaps I might have Stats - Za said yes we do and he thinks that it's the practise paper we were given before - hopefully it isn't 'cause if it is I'm screwed because I could only do less than half of that one. Hmm... darn Statistics - really hate it, especially as I just work from a textbook. English exams as well tomorrow - I'm in school all day doing exams - as is everyone in our year one Maths and two English. I'm sure I'll survive but it'll be a bad day - I hate English and Stats...

Aha!

An A1 board is an A1 sized piece of hard cardboard. Good good, that's sorted now I just need to sort out what I'm actually gonna get on there :S. Bought various DVDs recently, none particularly interesting. Hopefully will buy Princess Diaries 2 tonight or sometime soon. Hehe, my digital camera arrived yesterday :D been exploring the wonders of odd pictures. Lots of fun, very good camera too. My own camera hehe, Kodak v530, for about £157 or something, have yet to pay dad as he bought it over the internet for me. Luckily I don't have to buy myself a memory card, my parents are very nicely going to buy me one :). So overall I've spent a large portion/over half of my savings... I need to get a bank account sometime, now not sure if it's worth it. Hmm... I'm rather crap at the whole saving thing, I've been saving money (in £s anyway) for three years and now I've just spent more than I would ever want to... but it was worth it I think, lovely digital camera :). Still lots of work - my day today had only one thing planned, one study of a picasso self portrait. Did that soon after I woke up (bout 11am, lol) and then ended up tidying and cleaning for £7.50 which I will soon use to buy a DVD - as previously mentioned -. Today has been reasonably productive, lots of singing, bit of art and Sims 2 playing and little fresh air.

Happy New Years Eve!
