Overloaded but still...

Haven't done that much lately... well yesterday I did quite a lot, two chapters of Science revision, one chapter Separate Science, Lots of History and a double art research page. Today I was supposed to do a study of an artist's work and display my double research page from yesterday. I really couldn't be bothered and spent the day on the sims and at the library - getting Asterix books which I've read now... - and shopping a bit. Needed to get a prezzie for an NZ friend. Ech, still have so much to do. How annoying, nevermind. I'm sure I'll survive. Couldn't get hold of my art teacher so I assume an the 'board' that I need is a large piece of reasonably thin wood and have bought one accordingly. Must paint it... Darn Art work. *sigh*
I'm not used to working so much and all the revision...

*yawn* Just got back from midnight mass. Will go to sleep in a moment. Just thought to blog. Mass wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was actually quite good. Today didn't do much, lots of sims and finished off my art thingy from yesterday. Didn't do much useful stuff. Anyway, very tired now, either sleep or reading Hogfather (Terry Pratchett)...

Busy Bee

I am a busy bee. Well according to Daniel I am Bee anyway so yeah, now I'm a real busy bee. I've got so much to do these next two weeks. Yesterday spent playing Sims 2 Nightlife, Doing lots of artwork (Well not that much, 2 pages of art research for my mock prep work - on Frida Kahlo, then presented it), wrote Sarah a letter, survey and card, went to town - library, put money in the bank for my sister, bought stuff to display my art research, bought Sarah a little present, then back home to wrap christmas presents and write any left over cards, back out again to post Sarah's letter. Then SLEEP.
Today I've not done that much, made Carol's card, stuck it on her present, 2 more pages of art research, not yet presented but I do have the materials to do so - this time on Elisabeth Louise Vigée LeBrun, love her 'self portrait in a straw hat'. Going to play risk with Dad and Carol soon. Oh yes, also today I had my nails painted red :) Very christmassy or something. CHRISTMAS IN 2 DAYS!! :o
I have all my days planned out of stuff I must do - revision and LOTS OF ART STUFF - up until two weeks after christmas *sigh*

Shopping!

Spent all day yesterday shopping. Was good fun. Got stuff for my art prep work which is good although I don't have my A1 board. What is an A1 board anyway, any ideas? A1 size, yes. But board? Canvas on board? (I assume not) or a large piece of wood? I am confused. May call the 'art hotline'. Anyway, bought my prom outfit yesterday which is nice, sorted. It's a velvet top and skirt, I never particularly liked velvet but this is quite nice. Bought the Sims 2 Nightlife expansion pack which should be fun to explore. Going to listen to a brass band play (which includes Carol's boyfriend and friend). Going to wear odd hats today. Carol got a fantastic jingly green jesters hat which she'll wear today and she's offered me a blue sequinny santa hat or a silver one to wear today. May well do. Why not, lol.

Still my birthday...

Just a bit later. Today so far hasn't been too bad. Went to school, had fun in tutorial messing about and taking photos with my mates. Half an hour of vaguely sciency games in Science. An hour of netball, during which Aimee threw the ball (accidently) at my head and Nome whacked me (again accidently) in the eye with her flinging hand. I had to go and get an ice pack but the throbbing in my cheek bone soon went away. Then an hour of ICT - worst subject of the day. The Zen told me off for my jingly earrings, having my gift bag on the table and asked "Do you have anything on your face?" (to which I answered "No", she must be blind if she thinks I was wearing make up! - and later thought 'Well I have a nose on my face...') So that wasn't the best lesson. Then we had assembly which was alright, I won a football and all the boys were going 'Hazel you're great' and 'Can I have your football?'. Rather amusing. Tonight I'm going out with my parents to dinner and we're gonna go see Flightplan so it should be cool. Tomorrow I'm having a sleepover with Tannya and Kat which will be fun :D.

Hehe, it's my birthday!

And I have woken up half an hour ago - 6.30am - to bake cookies for my friends coz it's the last day. Aren't I nice :) I've opened some of my prezzies, I opened the one from Grandma - a beautiful shell shaped wooden box with different bits that you can take out - at 1.00am when I woke up feeling uncomfortable, loved that prezzies :). I got a ceramic shoe from my parents (though I'm not sure if dad had seen it. hmmm ?) which was rather odd but cool :D. Opened Kats present, got a WHSmith giftcard and a lovely photo frame with Kat, me and Tannya in it :) It's really nice. Anyway must run or cookies will burn.

No school!

I got to go home from school today! The boiler broke down so we would have all froze. But it's back to school tomorrow - I'm quite glad, I need to give oiut prezzies and stuff! Spent an hour this morning in tutorial messing about and taking loads of photos, unfortunately I didn't have my camera today but Precious had hers and Dan had his camera phone so it was lots of fun. As well as those two, Kelly was taking pictures for the year book. Anyway, I'm probs gonna go shopping coz... well why not? lol. I wish you all a very merry christmas (well, soon)!

Sing Sing Sing

I feel in a singy mood right now... have been learning 'I surrender' and I think I've got the tune and the first verse and chorus now. We're singing it next Sunday - Church Christmas thingy, I'm also in the puppet thingy and on welcome team... plus I'm bringing my friends who are sleeping over on Saturday so it should be interesting. I have to be at church at 9.30 for practise and stuff.
Went to youthgroup dinner thing last night - was very fun. Rocket balloons rule! Hehe, I really don't understand how Chris managed to pop two... and Bec popped one while I managed to blow mine up and I'm not very good at blowing up balloons... *shrugs* Yeah and the staff came over with this mini birthday cake (which Rich later pronounced 'inedible') and made me shout my name and age to everyone -standing up- before singing me happy birthday. How embarrassing, nevermind. Wasn't that bad really, but we don't know who told! We don't think anyone actually did tell... We have three theories:
1. They do it to every table (come up and say "who's birthday is it")
2. They came to the wrong table
3. They overheard us talking
Not sure how else they'd have known...

Am planning to go to the open air nativity at 4.00pm which should be interesting. Haven't been to one before so, yeah. Time to go sing more :)

A walk to remember...

It arrived today! yay :) my DVD, a walk to remember. I just watched the majority of it (skipping the beginning) and I realised that it is probably my absolute favourite film. The only part I don't like is the beginning because it's rather mean but it was really necessary, I just prefer sweet stuff. The film includes all the essentials in my opinion, I do love action films etc. as well but this is just so sweet! It has bits that make me laugh, bits that make me cry, ooooh so sweet bits and a satisfying ending. It's just... so good! Hehe, very happy with my new DVD :).

My birthday is in exactly a week!!! hehe, just thinking about how when you're young a birthday is great but as you get older they aren't so exciting anymore. Some birthdays become anniversaries (e.g. The 5th anniversary of her 29th birthday, lol).
A question for you:
How many birthdays does the average person have? (think about it, answer at the bottom)

Today's not been bad, I survived through Science and Dance, two hours of ICT practise exam and my last hour of school, RE. I seem to be the only one who's actually done the coursework, but it's good, it means that while they all start it and have to do it at home I don't have anything to worry about. Well, not counting my mocks in Jan and other homework and stuff. I've got Christmas to worry about my exam, how nice of whoever it is that decides these things to give us Christmas over which to worry and revise (yes, of course everyone will revise over christmas! Yeah, right). I need to finish buying Christmas presents! Hmm... shopping to do.

Got part of a song stuck in my head from dance....

"I believe I can, I believe I will, I believe I know my dreams are real, I believe I'll chant, I believe I'll dance, I believe I'll grow real soon and that is what I do believe"

Well I don't know the rest of it so I had to look it up because it is mega annoying when you only know part of a song that's stuck in your head. So I figure why not put the lyrics on my blog, here they are (as given by http://www.lyricsondemand.com/soundtracks/h/honeylyrics/):

I believe - Yolanda Adams

They said you wouldn't make is so far uh uh
And ever since they said it, it's been hard
But nevermind the nights you had to cry
Cause you have never let it go inside
You worked real hard
And you know exactly what you want and need
So believe and you can never give up
You can reach your goals
Just talk to your soul and say…

(Chorus:)
I believe I can (I can)
I believe I will (I will)
I believe I know my dreams are real (know my dreams are real)
I believe I'll chant (Oh yea)
I believe I'll dance
I believe I'll grow real soon and (That's why)
That is what I do believe

Your goals are just a thing in your soul uh uh
And you know that your moves will let them show
You keep creating pictures in your mind
So just believe they will come true in time
It will be fine
Leave all of your cares and stress behind
Just let it go
Let the music flow inside
Forget all your pain
And just start to believe

(Chorus:)
I believe I can (I believe I can oh yea)
I believe I will
I believe I know my dreams are real (All of my dreams are real)
I believe I'll chant
I believe I'll dance (I gotta dance)
I believe I'll grow real soon and (ooo)
That is what I do believe
Whoa oa oa YEA…

(Music break)

Nevermind what people say
Hold your head high and turn away
With all our hopes and dreams I will believe
Even though it seems it's not for me
I won't give up
I'll keep it up
Look into the sky
I will achieve all my needs
I will always believe…OoOo

(Chorus 2x)
I believe I can
I believe I will (I can)
I believe I know my dreams are real (I got strength)
I believe I'll chant
I believe I'll dance (I gotta dance)
I believe I'll grow real soon and (watch me watch me watch me)
That is what I do believe (I do believe in me)
I believe I can
I believe I will (oh yea)
I believe I know my dreams are real
I believe I'll chant
I believe I'll dance (I gotta dance)
I believe I'll grow real soon and
That is what I do believe (I do believe! yayeeyay)

Sounds good to me :). Hmm.... I like Jesse McCartney songs from a Cinderella story as well... anyway.
Did you want the answer to that birthday question? Well either way I'm giving it to you:
One per year

Rather silly really, not particularly profound, just something I picked up from the law session on college taster day and also from some e-mail forward. If I think of any more of those then I will put them here in my blog. But I am very happy about my DVD :D, gonna be sad and go watch extras...

Note: Chels, you've gotta sleep round sometime - and see a walk to remember lol.

Pondering...

Today was... interesting. Very sad to discover that my DVD 'A walk to remember' won't actually arrive until next week at the earliest (Dad told me it should be here yesterday...) but nevermind. Hopefully will be here before my birthday. My birthday is a week from tomorrow!! :D hehe. I'll be the same age as everyone else was in my year at the beginning of Sept! lol.

Today was ok, English was very interesting and amusing. It went from a discussion on Emmeline Pankhurst and the Suffragettes to 'Samuel is sexist' and back and forth, very amusing due to Samuel digging a hole for himself saying things like 'Boys naturally like football and girls naturally like dance, although I like dance'; this led to comments such as 'oh, so are you saying you're unnatural?' and such. It was rather sexist, Tannya made the point of 'just because it's less common doesn't mean it's unnatural' and Tannya doesn't like dance and likes football so there you go. Later on she told me the example she was going to say but never got the chance to, this was that just because there are more white people than black in Britain doesn't mean being black is unnatural. I think this is a fair point. Well there were some good arguments though I'm not sure what I'm going to write for the homework about my views on men and women and their roles and stuff... will need to think.

Maths was also amusing. Explaining inequalities, Sir said 'Once you've seen one, you've seen them all' and I'm sure you can imagine what sort of reaction this got from a class full of teenagers. Anyway...

Need a good book to read... hmm... I've got my Art mock paper and I'm going to do the art based on 'Identity', it should be interesting. First thing I thought of was a self-portrait about my identity and stuff. Miss gave me some ideas of artists to look at if I want to do that sort of thing - Frida Kahlo and Maggie Hambling so I've got to look them up. Have viewed some of Frida Kahlo's stuff, self-portrait paintings with identity stuff throughout, so yeah. Will do some research and stuff over the weekend...

Christmas is coming up! Will have to finish writing Christmas cards and getting prezzies soon... Have some pondering to do yet.

Sunday Morning

is here. Wow, another week gone by, pretty quick too... It's my birthday soon! :D. And Xmas. Went to an Xmas dinnery thingy last night. Had creme brulee for dessert, I don't particularly like it... also had a rather burnt pastry steak thing for mains. But overall it was alright. We got so-awful-they're-funny jokes in christmas crackers. It was interesting. Today I'm on welcome team at church so I've gotta go in half an hour. Hmmm... attempting to talk to Sarah over webcam - not working. Darn network...

Anyway I must get around to updating siteness or something. hmmm... yes.

Pretty Good

Day this was. I went to a college interview, was encouraged not to go to that college, can't do 5 subjects there - only 4 so I have now decided not to go there but to go to the college I really wanted to go to anyway. Which is good - made the decision easier. Then had ARD and complained a little, found out my tutor is getting married again and leaving us at Christmas! She's not going to see us leave the school :o. And she's been with us since the beginnning. Well anyway, CONGRATULATIONS to her :D. Just gone to Tescos and bought ice cream - made my day better - although I won't be eating any til another day. And got quite a lot done, tidied room (this is an amazing event for me) and got other cleaning/tidying done round the house - useful, plus I get paid :D - and... yeah. Ooo, I watched Mr and Mrs Smith too, wanted to see that for a while, it's pretty good. So pretty good day. And tomorrow I'll talk to Sarah on web cam! :D yay! Missing her v. much :(.

I learnt, today, how to tone down my absolutely so adorable (perhaps when I was little, but right now not to me) bright red cheeks with concealery stuff. Useful that. Not that I'll do it often, waste of make up, I can survive with permanently blushing cheeks :D.

Hehe, I'm probably going to NZ next year... :)

Tired

Always tired. I am. Truly, always tired, that's me. Can't stand stats at the mo, doing my head in, ech! Got bad headaches recently but other than that am pretty good. Got a bit of hmk done today - progress. Gotta go shopping tomorrow, and go to library. Longing for the old NZ library I used to go to, didn't appreciate it when I had it, missing it now. The library here is rather small and doesn't have many books I'd like to read! Re-reading Immortals quartet - Tamora Pierce. Gotta buy them sometime... Will borrow them from the library... at least they have the whole Immortals series and Tricksters choice there. Gotta love Tamora Pierce books. Wanna read: Tricksters Queen, Rest of Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens quartets. *sigh*, don't think my work's at a very good standard recently, oh well. Will feel better in the morning. Hmm... Birthday's coming up! hehe. and Christmas. Singing alto to Silent Night and Jingle Bell Rock at school thingy. MNAR!
